CHE Behavioral Health Services has launched patient billing and communications platform Inbox Health across its care network spanning multiple states.
Under the agreement, Inbox Health's patient billing support team will manage inbound calls, chat and email for CHE Behavioral Health Services' patient questions.
Additionally, an AI-powered support assistant will allow patients to get help nights, weekends and holidays. The service is available in 60 languages.
Meanwhile, CHE Behavioral Health Services' internal team will be accessible via real‑time dashboards that track statement delivery, payment status and patient feedback.
In the first 60 days of implementing Inbox Health, CHE said it has observed improvements in several areas.
CHE Behavioral Health Services completed implementation in less than 40 days using Inbox Health's integrations with Qualifacts practice management systems, a behavioral health EHR software.
The company reported that 90% of payments were received within the first 15 days of getting a bill, while 99% of patients opted for digital communications.
Additionally, CHE predicts a 15-day decline in patient-pay day sales outstanding (DSO) and a 75% drop in inbound billing calls to internal staff within a year.
Inbox Health is an AI-enabled tool that automates billing and payments, providing patients with a detailed understanding of their charges. Patients can pay their medical bills via credit card, digital wallet, ACH, phone and check.
The company automatically reviews patient files and delivers statements via the patient's preferred method of communication.
CHE provides inpatient and telehealth services for anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, psychosis and behavioral disturbances.
The company also provides cognitive and behavioral interventions for medical problems such as noncompliance, hypertension, chronic pain, diabetes, cancer and obesity.
"At CHE, delivering compassionate, whole‑person care means making every step of the patient journey seamless, including billing," Kristin Siragusa, vice president of revenue cycle for CHE Behavioral Health Services, said in a statement.
"Choosing Inbox Health has allowed us to provide our patients with a platform that is simple, effective and easy to navigate."
Inbox Health prioritizes clear, empathetic communication throughout the patient billing process, a vital but too often overlooked quality, particularly in behavioral health, according to Blake Walker, the company's cofounder and CEO.
"By pairing modern payment methods based on patients' preferred communication channels with our hybrid options for live and AI-powered patient support, CHE can improve patient collections, lower statement costs and most importantly, give patients the supportive billing experience they deserve," Walker said in a statement.
THE LARGER TREND
In July, Inbox Health launched its AI-powered assistant for patient billing support, fully integrated into its patient billing platform.
The assistant has been in a pilot phase for most of 2025. According to the company, it resolved over 70% of patient billing questions 24/7, without call center intervention.
In May, Inbox Health partnered with medical coding platform Exdion Health.
Through the collaboration, Exdion clients can leverage automation on both the insurance and patient billing side of the revenue cycle via Inbox Health's patient billing platform.
That same month, Inbox Health joined the Greenway Health Marketplace.
Greenway Health provides electronic health records, practice management and revenue cycle management offerings.
Inbox Health expanded its existing relationship with Greenway by deepening its integration for Greenway's Intergy (EHR platform) users, aiming to improve patient billing and driving revenue growth for healthcare practices.
